Jonesboro’s strategy for economic growth includes shaping an effective pipeline of skilled talent.  By aligning our workforce with key industries, we are creating a rich environment that allows for local company expansions and attracts new business and industry to the region.  Impactful, proactive programs and strategies like those below have created a robust labor force in Jonesboro.

Combine our programs and the rich pool of talent produced by Arkansas State University (A-State), Arkansas State University-Newport (ASUN), and surrounding career and technical schools, Jonesboro can deliver the talent a company needs.

TekStarz, Jonesboro’s annual summer manufacturing camp for 7th and 8th graders, exposes students to careers in manufacturing and engages them in the manufacturing process; nurtures a positive outlook toward manufacturing; and, provides students with a broad overview of the industrial community in Jonesboro.

Get To Know Jonesboro

Absolutely NO POWERPOINTS!  That's just one of the great things about JU's Get To Know Jonesboro event.  We take industry professionals who are newly relocated to Jonesboro and give them a day on the town... on us!  We file it under "Workforce Development".  The idea behind it: get people involved and informed in their new home and you have a greater chance of keeping that excellent employee!
