Jonesboro Unlimited (JU) held a Signing Day Celebration on Thursday, April 9 at the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce to honor soon-to-be graduating high school seniors that either have conditional job offers or have been selected to move forward in the interview process with three local employers as a result of their new Here2Hired initiative.

For Hytrol Conveyor Co., those selected to move forward in the interview process include:
- Rayshaun Gallaway, Jonesboro High School
- Keshaun Washington, Nettleton High School
- Javion Hill, Nettleton High School
- Shariah Brinkley, Nettleton High School
- Jaylah Mathis, Nettleton School
- Nicolai Houston, Nettleton High School
- Dewayne Morris, Trumann High School / Northeast Arkansas Career & Technical Center (NEACTC)

For Chris West Plumbing, Inc., those with conditional job offers include:
- Wes Smith, Westside High School
- Tayvon Love, Brookland High School

And for Greenway Equipment with a conditional job offer:
- Wil Oberg, Home School / NEACTC

“We couldn’t be more proud of the students we recognized at our inaugural Here2Hired Signing Day,” said Shelle Randall, JU Director of Workforce Development and Existing Industry. “It was such a meaningful way to celebrate their hard work and the exciting next steps ahead. This event is a great example of what can happen when education and industry work hand-in-hand to support the future of Jonesboro.”

Here2Hired was designed by Jonesboro Unlimited to strengthen the region’s workforce pipeline by connecting graduating seniors with career opportunities; helping local employers identify the next generation of talent. The three-phase event kicked off with a career fair on March 12 at Nettleton High School where around 200 local students met with 26 regional employers to learn about career paths and begin conversations that could lead to employment after graduation. The next phase included follow-up interviews for those employers who had available positions or those opening in the near future. Then, the Signing Day Celebration was the last phase, honoring those who had recently been given conditional job offers or been selected for the next phase of the interview process.

The headliner partner for Here2Hired was Hytrol Conveyor Company.

“At Hytrol, we believe a strong workforce starts with investing in young talent,” said Christy Valentine, Hytrol Manager of Academic and Philanthropic Programs. “Here2Hired is a powerful example of how communities can come together to create real opportunities. We’re honored to be part of this initiative and look forward to seeing these students flourish as they begin their careers.”
